Why Not Travel Store - Pet of the Month for January 2026

This is Bacon and she was saved from the neighborhood gang she was apart of, she was a terrorist growing up but turned into the sweetest baby ever, she just needed love, mental stimulation and some positive reinforcement training! Bacon was a rough and tuff outside dog when we rescued her. Then we turned her into a spoiled cuddle bug. We made sure we gave her cozy places to sleep, we no longer have our queen size bed, it’s Bacon’s queen size bed now!! Bacon is smart and loves playing doggie puzzles, snuggling, doggie massages, snoring in our ears and sleeping on our heads, oh and going on vacations to Mexico. This sweetie pie even knows when we are in pain, will rub our aching backs and even tells us in understandable English that she loves us!! She’s truly the best being in this world and our best friend for life!"

How to Enter Pet of the Month

​Want to take a chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate to our store? Take a photo(s) of your pet(s) (dog, cat, parrot, horse, whatever...) at one of our many store settings (FounTruck, 'Greetings from Why' mural, our cactus garden, etc.) and send

• A short bio of your pet(s) e.g., how you came to being their parent, activities they like to do
  

​Every month, our staff from across the nation will review submissions and if your pet is selected, somebody from the store will reach out to you. If your pet is not selected, fear not for your pet will be put back in the contest for the following month(s) contest.
